Hot Water (SHW) is the least expensive renewable energy technology
available that will quickly reduce home energy consumption. With a
system life expectancy of over 30 years, a SHW system pays for itself
many times over in energy savings, while adding value to your home.
A typical SHW system will, over its lifetime, displace up to 71.5 tons
of CO2 if replacing an electric system, and up to 10.5 tons of CO2
if replacing a natural gas system.

Solar Thermal System Advantages:
- Solar Thermal technology
is the oldest and most commonly used renewable resource

- SHW systems are
versatile; they can be integrated with Domestic Hot Water
(DHW) systems, as well as for space heating (i.e.: radiant
floor heating and
forced air systems), hot tubs and swimming pools.
- Solar collectors
typically carry a 10-year warranty, and will produce more energy
over its lifetime than was required to manufacture it.
- SHW systems can
provide a large percentage (up to 80% of a household's yearly
hot water demand depending upon local climate conditions and the
size of the system).
How it Works:
Solar Heating harnesses
the power of the sun to provide heat for water, space heating and
swimming pools. Active systems are specifically designed to utilize
the heat generated from sunlight by taking the power of the sun and
amplifying it. Solar collectors are at the heart of solar thermal
systems. The collector absorbs the suns light energy and changes it
into heat energy, and transfers this heat energy directly to a storage
system or interior space.
