Gate House: 4 SHW Collectors, 960 watt PV System, Solar Radiant Floor. The PV System was designed to supplement daily power needs and to provide Back-up to critical communications equipment for community security and staff.

Balsam Mountain Preserve Camp Hydro

Campground Micro-Hydro Electric System:
High tech Micro-Hydro system installed to supply power and hot water to bathroom and showers at the campground. The Micro-Hydro system utilizes a moderate six foot vertical drop to supply more than enough power for the job, while preserving the natural beauty and vibrant health of the stream.

Balsam Mountain Preserve Dining Hall

Dining Hall: 8- 4x8 SHW Collectors to provide hot water service for cooking and cleaning needs at the community dining hall in Balsam Mountain Preserve. As many as seventy people seated in the hall could enjoy a meal prepared by harnessing the power of solar!
